In a nutshell

In your new role, you report to the Head of PointsPay and are responsible globally for building a network of online merchants who accept PointsPay.  PointsPay is a payment button that ecommerce merchants add to their checkout pages which enables members of participating loyalty programs to spend or collect points/miles when they are shopping online.  With over 48 trillion unspent points/miles globally, loyalty programs are desperate to engage their members and offer compelling new ways for them to use their points/miles.  PointsPay has been live for nearly two years, and is already being used by leading global loyalty programs such as Miles & More (Europe’s largest airline loyalty program, anchored by Lufthansa), Etihad Guest (the loyalty program of Etihad Airways), and will shortly launch with the loyalty program of the second largest bank in India, Axis Bank.  In addition, there is already a growing network of >30 merchants who have implemented PointsPay.  We are looking for a dynamic sales leader to take PointsPay to the next level.

  • You will be directly responsible for the merchant sales targets across all regions – through both individual contribution and through management of your sales team.
  • You will provide strong leadership to your sales team, through regular team-based and also 1:1 meetings to review pipelines, provide coaching and drive the correct sales behaviour.
  • You will develop plans and strategies for growing business and achieving the sales goals.
  • You will provide detailed and accurate sales reporting and forecasting through use of Salesforce.
  • You will work closely with the integration team to ensure that merchants go-live in a smooth and timely manner after contract signing – both to ensure merchant satisfaction and to drive revenue as quickly as possible.
  • You will ensure alignment with the marketing function to coordinate and communicate with merchants regarding program campaigns to members designed to boost traffic.
  • You will demonstrate creativity in finding and targeting prospective merchants, through both direct sales efforts and also through building and cultivating an effective partner network.
  • You will continuously contribute to improving the sales process through review of sales materials and approach.
  • You will commit to understanding PointsPay product features and functionality, both current and planned, with a view to providing feedback from the market to continuously improve the solution.
  • You will travel for in-person meetings with prospects, merchants and partners to develop key relationships.

What you will need

What you will need        

  • Experience selling within the e-payment industry, preferably directly to merchants
  • Experience of working with or within e-payment processors
  • Successful track record in sales and experience using a solutions sales methodology
  • Experience managing multiple sales cycles simultaneously as well as managing accounts after deal completion
  • Experience managing a sales team would be helpful, but not essential - the role is open to those who are making the transition from an individual contributor sales role into a leadership position
  • Skills in building relationships with prospects that continue beyond deal completion
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
  • Skills in prospecting with little reliance on inbound leads
  • Strong ability to forecast accurately
  • Strong reporting skills and the ability to manage business using Salesforce
  • Team player attitude
